Funimation
Funimation was a team project that solved several problems for the client. They sell animae videos. But more importantly, they brand each and every movie, charactor and series. Marketing wanted to make sure each charactor had its own web address inside the Funimation site that was referenced from a variety of sources from within the site, including the community (forums) section, call-outs on the home page, and by browsing the vast video libraries. The site was constructed on Drupal 6 Pressflow using Organic Groups and Advanced Forums for each charactor. And the audience is led to the charactor's product page to purchase items exclusive to that character. The site uses an external video serving platform, leveraging the speed of a content delivery network (CDN).
